1x WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE STAFFORDSHIRE Historic 12 5/8” Plate
This is a beautiful antique plate from Royal Staffordshire Pottery Burslem England.
Marked on bottom rim with: SHAKESPEARE / lion emblem (Royal Staffordshire Pottery) / Burslem / England / F. Mark was used around 1907 by Arthur J. Wilkinson (Ltd) operating at the Royal Staffordshire Pottery (and formerly at the Central Pottery), in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent.
The Flow Blue design features the portrait of William Shakespeare, Shakespeare's house in Stratford on Avon and scene with Hamlet and Ophelia.
It measures about 12-5/8” in diameter and 1-1/4” off the table.
This item is in excellent antique condition with no noticeable wear, no cracks or repairs.
Looks as if this piece was used not as a serving dish but for decorative purpose only.
This plate is truly a marvelous piece and highly collectible! Beautiful addition to your home.
